You may be confused looking at my chess blog posts. You may wonder what <b>18. Nxf7!! </b>means. In this blog post I'll be teaching you how to read my chess blog posts! First, I'll be breaking down <b>18. Nxf7!!</b>.<br />
<b>18.</b><br />
This is the number of moves there have been (so this would be move #18 for white and black has moved 17 times)<br />
<b>N</b><br />
N is for Knight, so this is a knight moving. If it was a Q, it would be a queen moving. If it was a B, it would be a bishop. If it was R, it would be a Rook moving. If it was a K, it would be a king. If it is any lowercase letter, it is a pawn<br />
<b>x</b><br />
x simply means that a piece is being captured<br />
<b>f7</b><br />
f7 means that the knight landed on the square f7 if you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a picture an empty chess board with markings of squares.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgri2wEnUI1W0xVkBGOb9hb0EMyROU67_uvIJVwvr6HNzCZ8EbaDTyO7ExkZMfnOOaMcL-nYitNc-tr7di8_UXEy4g2EfeFaxjvX_e5-PKvtt8hlOQOc0v1Z8Vg4dPorqIEMEdKBiwikbp1/s1600/annotated-chess_algebraic_naming-squares.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="390" data-original-width="379" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgri2wEnUI1W0xVkBGOb9hb0EMyROU67_uvIJVwvr6HNzCZ8EbaDTyO7ExkZMfnOOaMcL-nYitNc-tr7di8_UXEy4g2EfeFaxjvX_e5-PKvtt8hlOQOc0v1Z8Vg4dPorqIEMEdKBiwikbp1/s320/annotated-chess_algebraic_naming-squares.gif" width="310" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
image found <a href="http://chess-tips.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html" target="_blank">here</a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In the beginning of the chess game, white's pieces are on the squares that have 1's and 2's on them and black's pieces are on the squares that have 7's and 8's. The f7 means that the knight is landing on the square that has f7 on it.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>!!</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The !! means that this is an absolutely SPECTACULAR move! One ! would mean that the move is a great one. A ? would mean that the move is a mistake. A ?? would mean that the move is absolutely TERRIBLE.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>What do 0-0 and 0-0-0 mean?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
0-0 means that the move is a king side castle. 0-0-0 means that the move is a queen side castle.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

To start I'm going to tell you the three types of puzzle<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Checkmating</li>
<li>Material Winning</li>
<ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul></ul>
</ul>
</ul>
</ul>
</ul>
</ul>
<li>Avoiding Checkmate and/or Capture</li>
</ul>
The biggest thing in tactics is deciding what type of puzzle it is.<br />
<b>Checkmating</b><br />
These are usually easy to find, but can be mistaken for material winning puzzles<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eCEZFcRsKcQeZS2bm8eoy4kRWIBKSpFW-enUCq_pzBhdAxmmOEsfYYUpZVpBt5tSopQUbrbBP5F9VTMhVWNvsKNoGWq6lEjbm0OXPMUSejTfbRJdrBmH5MagIx8uECm623azF4qq-avg/s1600/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+10.48.40+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="538" data-original-width="538" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2eCEZFcRsKcQeZS2bm8eoy4kRWIBKSpFW-enUCq_pzBhdAxmmOEsfYYUpZVpBt5tSopQUbrbBP5F9VTMhVWNvsKNoGWq6lEjbm0OXPMUSejTfbRJdrBmH5MagIx8uECm623azF4qq-avg/s320/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+10.48.40+AM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
This is an example of a checkmating puzzle that can be mistaken for a material winning puzzle. That mistake would be 1.Qxd4?? which would lose your queen after 1... Ba5+! 2. Ke7, Qxd4. Instead, the correct move is <b>1. Qg3! </b>which will checkmate the opponents king after <b>1... Ke2, Ba6+ 2. Nb5, Bxb5#</b>. Mate.<br />
<b>Material Winning</b><br />
These puzzles are about giving yourself an edge by stealing pieces.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ6Xdjzv5wy9qKx-sbPWhfekogvD6KP1KMXpZQtFkVry6Yb0AHhL-DZ_O1n3D9Z9Sa2oda0vT631HjBIuReUpLJV_MwMeJSy5FvJWnmZOHFR4dFqwFx08Y-Ld1hpFQR7NviUsQinEkKN4X/s1600/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+10.49.29+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="538" data-original-width="538" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ6Xdjzv5wy9qKx-sbPWhfekogvD6KP1KMXpZQtFkVry6Yb0AHhL-DZ_O1n3D9Z9Sa2oda0vT631HjBIuReUpLJV_MwMeJSy5FvJWnmZOHFR4dFqwFx08Y-Ld1hpFQR7NviUsQinEkKN4X/s320/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+10.49.29+AM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is an easy tactic that probably won't give you many points. If you don't know what to do, the answer is <b>1. Ne3 </b>which will take the queen in the next move.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Defense</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji4Rk3_kzEGXgyqRCzUaOYumFG_-kGQK0ndMs3FbSyWG357-0X6Qm1_VEqk2J1Xvy4JPLoQ6PAFrGE05X-8uSlQpxxaXI7y1xnJkSdLyS6gdxESfOdZS6pwlb04jK0niQGoFWW-xKVoAyP/s1600/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+11.26.52+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="541" data-original-width="537" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEji4Rk3_kzEGXgyqRCzUaOYumFG_-kGQK0ndMs3FbSyWG357-0X6Qm1_VEqk2J1Xvy4JPLoQ6PAFrGE05X-8uSlQpxxaXI7y1xnJkSdLyS6gdxESfOdZS6pwlb04jK0niQGoFWW-xKVoAyP/s320/Screenshot+2017-05-26+at+11.26.52+AM.png" width="317" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I couldn't find any easy ones, so I went with one that even after completing the moves it still makes 0 sense to me. You can ALWAYS tell when a puzzle is about defense.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have told you the biggest thing in chess tactics! Happy puzzling!</div>

<br />
Potion brewing in minecraft is quite complicated, so I'm going to show you how to make a few easy to make potions.<br />
First of course you are going to need 1 blaze rod <img alt="Image result for blaze minecraft" src="http://www.minecraftguides.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/blaze.gif" /><br />
And 3 cobble (cobblestone) to make a Brewing Stand, and<img alt="Image result for brewing stand minecraft" src="http://www.minecraftguides.org/craftingrecipes/brewingStand.png" /><br />
blaze powder<br />

for the fuel. In order to make most potions you need to make an awkward potion<img alt="Image result for awkward potion minecraft" src="http://www.minecraftopia.com/images/blocks/awkward_potion.png" height="200" width="200" />, and in order to do that you are going to need nether wart <img alt="Image result for nether wart minecraft" src="https://c.pixita.com/blocks/Nether_Wart.png" />and water bottles<img alt="Image result for water bottles minecraft" src="http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/minecraft360/images/8/87/Potion_blue-1-.png/revision/latest?cb=20140717103525" height="200" width="200" /><br />

I almost never play chess in person because I have almost nobody to play it with. I have a few friends that play chess, but they're not always in the mood. I took up Chess.com mainly because I was starting to get to old for ChessKid, which is a part of Chess.com. I instantly noticed a change in the playing style. I also noticed there were a lot more things to do. The most popular timer on ChessKid was 15 minutes, where on Chess.com it is 3 minutes. There were analysers, which were completely alien to me. This is a very fun website, with over 17 million members on it! There is lots of stuff to do to help with your chess skills. The link for the website is <a href="https://www.chess.com/" target="_blank">here</a>. If you want to you can also look at my profile, which is <a href="https://www.chess.com/member/mathkid1" target="_blank">here</a>, feel free.Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-59336494821154056882017-04-21T09:28:00.001-07:002017-04-21T09:28:56.898-07:00How to Win Fast Chess GamesBy Josh<br />
This time I'm going to talk about games with 1-5 minute timers. I hope you'll find this helpful!<br />
<br />
<b>Keep an eye on the clock at all times</b><br />
This is a simple rule that can be the difference between winning and losing. Try to keep your timer higher then your opponents. If you don't then you can have yourself trying to make up for that time with bad moves.<br />

So, time can play a huge factor. A good thing to do is to:<br />
<br />
<b>Use opening traps</b><br />
A personal favorite of mine is this:<br />

Creating a fork between the queen and the rook. This brings me to my final point:<br />
<br />
<b>Never Resign</b><br />
This is a simple rule because of time. Their time can run out and you can still win.<br />
<br />
I hope you find this helpful!Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-1105518470543751432017-04-21T09:28:00.000-07:002017-04-21T09:28:46.781-07:00How to Play ChessBy Josh<br />
<br />
Hello! If you are reading this, you have most likely have never played chess, and if you have then you have probably forgotten how to play chess. The game is simple. The game is played on a checkerboard. when set up properly, the board looks like this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgccBFAjV_NiG5JcoJO5vli5MFwveG18RqHaVtK7BrLNaRpxRmO7O9ArXPwBz_gWhXqAvKzT1beYWkgmHskoN9fGDXoCDyThQeTxijNeE_r-4y9_YRBIXPCRoSv0EShEHyk5qzvHaBWimLE/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-23+at+9.51.26+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgccBFAjV_NiG5JcoJO5vli5MFwveG18RqHaVtK7BrLNaRpxRmO7O9ArXPwBz_gWhXqAvKzT1beYWkgmHskoN9fGDXoCDyThQeTxijNeE_r-4y9_YRBIXPCRoSv0EShEHyk5qzvHaBWimLE/s320/Screenshot+2017-03-23+at+9.51.26+AM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
Let me tell you the names of the pieces<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Pawn</b></li>
<li><b>Bishop</b></li>
<li><b>Knight</b></li>
<li><b>Rook</b></li>
<li><b>Queen</b></li>
<li><b>King</b></li>
</ul>
You go through the game taking turns, landing on your opponent's pieces to "capture" them (taking them off the board) and trying to "checkmate" the opponent's king (I will tell you about that later). You cannot land on your own pieces.<br />
I will now walk you through how to move them<br />
<br />
<b>Pawn</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQoKsbq1GLdrYUXmJUrMwiacgARHpglVtsBDtYLgbJ8WwswUAET61LrJQaGkrrCVfWEkq-NnA7b93ajq4Ct_zzI8J34YFcGK6_f2nlvTw_wxU-0QOKW93NizQ9UcDFgRZPWSYxjqlIE1mE/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-23+at+12.40.12+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQoKsbq1GLdrYUXmJUrMwiacgARHpglVtsBDtYLgbJ8WwswUAET61LrJQaGkrrCVfWEkq-NnA7b93ajq4Ct_zzI8J34YFcGK6_f2nlvTw_wxU-0QOKW93NizQ9UcDFgRZPWSYxjqlIE1mE/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-23+at+12.40.12+PM.png" /></a></div>
The pawn can only move forward one space at a time. If the pawn has not moved yet it can move 1 or 2 spaces. The only way the pawn can capture pieces is diagonal. The pawn cannot ever move backwards, even while capturing a piece. If the pawn reaches the last square on the other side (what I mean is that it can't move forward anymore) it will "promote" which means you take the pawn off the board and in it's place put down a different piece (it can't be a king).<br />
<br />
<b>Bishop</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkiOV4-Nakklfa7lbA-4l_PunczyJrTUAoPxKVFmASRiyKmB7GR_evJo5hG_LO86m51iMXQAvqiBxa8kbRx3WpXgEXmD_hYb5jT0ctLOjdOl26dhV7aQ6JO9TZVZqANiDLrRVvg4Zsk9I7/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.01.28+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkiOV4-Nakklfa7lbA-4l_PunczyJrTUAoPxKVFmASRiyKmB7GR_evJo5hG_LO86m51iMXQAvqiBxa8kbRx3WpXgEXmD_hYb5jT0ctLOjdOl26dhV7aQ6JO9TZVZqANiDLrRVvg4Zsk9I7/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.01.28+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bishop can only go diagonal as far as you want and in any direction you want (like, backwards, but it still has to be diagonal). It cannot go over pieces. It captures the same way it moves, diagonal and then stopping at the place that the captured piece was at.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Knight</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtsd9MEN-uCHiV-z98DVqHYC_zR5Sk4PwRvj9t9yXttBg1kYHJOsouf7joyn340CMNEEIMVpNZOBnw0FzMn0kwCVGdaWDE-luwHEJ81jqOEVSJtJkILID2pNHLpJbybLcj0EreSa07lobR/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.00.37+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtsd9MEN-uCHiV-z98DVqHYC_zR5Sk4PwRvj9t9yXttBg1kYHJOsouf7joyn340CMNEEIMVpNZOBnw0FzMn0kwCVGdaWDE-luwHEJ81jqOEVSJtJkILID2pNHLpJbybLcj0EreSa07lobR/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.00.37+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The knight is the weird piece. It only moves in an L-shape. 2 squares one way, and then 1 square left or right of that direction. This confuses some people, so I'll show you an example.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3mM3m6kSh4glVywGs57E1eQoQBNue6zoBUoCtUGCm2Y26r7TAtDTpQw3f4Mz9kWFjdUGhnD-TUBXiiS4R_QhH3Geqe8TzaeMAbbUDWqTyfXuDf-tjgan2nCvVghsXbQtz96csC-L_9B8f/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.14.23+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3mM3m6kSh4glVywGs57E1eQoQBNue6zoBUoCtUGCm2Y26r7TAtDTpQw3f4Mz9kWFjdUGhnD-TUBXiiS4R_QhH3Geqe8TzaeMAbbUDWqTyfXuDf-tjgan2nCvVghsXbQtz96csC-L_9B8f/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.14.23+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The knight is going to move two spaces to the left (our first direction), and one space down (or, left of the first left). The knight is the only piece that can jump over other pieces. It only captures by landing on the piece. The knight can't stop in the middle of the L to capture a piece.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Rook</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMiYzLAcGUGbdgDWBe2j2vyNDcYqDJDlp2ujZp72miMVUflk9JBB4vSguEeLqEFtcYN4PrJpwgWg63aBO9zG4xafZFztJpuKTPYOBxY_ZGpEMmmupyc4brlQX2BrSA5XeFvXRi2gYlJoy5/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.28.25+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMiYzLAcGUGbdgDWBe2j2vyNDcYqDJDlp2ujZp72miMVUflk9JBB4vSguEeLqEFtcYN4PrJpwgWg63aBO9zG4xafZFztJpuKTPYOBxY_ZGpEMmmupyc4brlQX2BrSA5XeFvXRi2gYlJoy5/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.28.25+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The same movements as a bishop, but only vertically and horizontally.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Queen</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIbIx0iHQLoS33Qe-Zr0iNYMAfVdrECb0mu-o9gTc908U81rxJEFWvZFH2f0itxlgFqBZc4XrJko0Uucb9455oCaVi-bMXdalWwDNK2p_KKAJw5X4v2eSH_52EjlkMPcr_SlCGUgwKaT3z/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.30.49+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIbIx0iHQLoS33Qe-Zr0iNYMAfVdrECb0mu-o9gTc908U81rxJEFWvZFH2f0itxlgFqBZc4XrJko0Uucb9455oCaVi-bMXdalWwDNK2p_KKAJw5X4v2eSH_52EjlkMPcr_SlCGUgwKaT3z/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.30.49+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The queen is like a bishop and rook COMBINED! It can go diagonal or straight (it can't do both in the same move)! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>King</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDST2VCn3iUiJ2EZ-KI6KzU0NgprInx6-i8ZgryEAeT1XquHbYEYKWpeEUdA83w4AXEWM8mX7LNEQQyAF3B-5dm0dbkWHVtSQAQ3saDYS_fj1zfcKjErbHAHOburOBwlRqWpCIdxPkHzx4/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.36.04+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDST2VCn3iUiJ2EZ-KI6KzU0NgprInx6-i8ZgryEAeT1XquHbYEYKWpeEUdA83w4AXEWM8mX7LNEQQyAF3B-5dm0dbkWHVtSQAQ3saDYS_fj1zfcKjErbHAHOburOBwlRqWpCIdxPkHzx4/s1600/Screenshot+2017-03-24+at+7.36.04+AM.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The final piece, and the most important. It moves just like a queen, but only one square at a time. If the king is in check (it can be captured in the next move) then you must do one of 3 things,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ol>
<li>Capture the piece putting the king in danger</li>
<li>Put a piece in between the attacker and your king</li>
<li>Move the king away</li>
</ol>
If you can't do any of them then you have been checkmated (you have lost)! So, protect your king at all costs! You cannot put your own king in danger.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Piece Worth</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Before you win a pawn and lose your queen, take a look at this chart to see what piece exchanges are worth your while.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Pawn is worth 1</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Bishop is worth 3</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Knight is worth 3</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Rook is worth 5</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>Queen is worth 9</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>King is worth infinity</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sometimes, people will do "sacrifices" which lose pieces but give them something else in return.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you found this helpful and happy chess playing!</div>

<br />
Paper airplanes are really fun once you get the hang of making them. Here are some simple instructions for 2 simple planes:<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Beginner's Plane<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIvE6P23ivytJwpjo8DlqyltuRgKC_68qa3uQezvTbdjQesfE3bdMru8ivak4r8mqqew-Jq5D8vU5JEmIZwN9K_ZOTixg9jG57QtjC8CVmIeSRujEM4tsSgtbqzE9DiWc-2XEBG5Pv7A9n/s1600/IMG_9914.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIvE6P23ivytJwpjo8DlqyltuRgKC_68qa3uQezvTbdjQesfE3bdMru8ivak4r8mqqew-Jq5D8vU5JEmIZwN9K_ZOTixg9jG57QtjC8CVmIeSRujEM4tsSgtbqzE9DiWc-2XEBG5Pv7A9n/s320/IMG_9914.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
</li>
</ol>
<div>
Step 1. Take a <b>blank</b> piece of paper<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrD_Qxhe6gC-ijVkJa0AL2piNMIyJfDmLQk2qHBLB7mx6BuwNp9EOgvA_AN7EXx6aLqcmnjp_uNPXKemds4Fx4b-uri0mOBPHoZlPoThrNmiNakWgUfWqxwkOda2aTQbB9rQV2u0yuCOlQ/s1600/IMG_9905.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrD_Qxhe6gC-ijVkJa0AL2piNMIyJfDmLQk2qHBLB7mx6BuwNp9EOgvA_AN7EXx6aLqcmnjp_uNPXKemds4Fx4b-uri0mOBPHoZlPoThrNmiNakWgUfWqxwkOda2aTQbB9rQV2u0yuCOlQ/s320/IMG_9905.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and fold it in half like so</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiglWCRKrAIrxp_zrEnAVSxTwLaPKt-awatgYgANPes3w9-YjtWfQTlCAb_gyjoUOex1K-UZTgBAUxP8t9UiU3B55ZrPeAwC_GVr6lzbKVwPCJkS3JqI5lxDZgfVG5Q6HhkHo54TQ1C8xn0/s1600/IMG_9906.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiglWCRKrAIrxp_zrEnAVSxTwLaPKt-awatgYgANPes3w9-YjtWfQTlCAb_gyjoUOex1K-UZTgBAUxP8t9UiU3B55ZrPeAwC_GVr6lzbKVwPCJkS3JqI5lxDZgfVG5Q6HhkHo54TQ1C8xn0/s320/IMG_9906.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 2. Unfold</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN-Aq0deecJPCpw-ud-wyXn0NNryUx36lvJfWWVBB6WWQQGrmV7tnBPYlzT4EIsippWAYskCnI2Fgw6gGBVnctQx5tk76sRor2YI467-nu8XhjeTSGz41oooYtoOaNuHK8y1IRIEzuHOuv/s1600/IMG_9908.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjN-Aq0deecJPCpw-ud-wyXn0NNryUx36lvJfWWVBB6WWQQGrmV7tnBPYlzT4EIsippWAYskCnI2Fgw6gGBVnctQx5tk76sRor2YI467-nu8XhjeTSGz41oooYtoOaNuHK8y1IRIEzuHOuv/s320/IMG_9908.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
(Make sure you can still see the first fold line)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 3.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8_fv_4N_bctMk_vI29N7NQjaYJSJDaMS8Ksr97luGZRegn5qJ3Rkmupg2ZnsOGtpnEiTMYM5H8YcUZCc_aydqXA5F5PJAflNUKU-dtoLheAzXOuMeU9HDgzr3XSpeHymIM22PL4HV7BrD/s1600/IMG_9909.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8_fv_4N_bctMk_vI29N7NQjaYJSJDaMS8Ksr97luGZRegn5qJ3Rkmupg2ZnsOGtpnEiTMYM5H8YcUZCc_aydqXA5F5PJAflNUKU-dtoLheAzXOuMeU9HDgzr3XSpeHymIM22PL4HV7BrD/s320/IMG_9909.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPP1TE2ewdi3oAEMk9b2TeF1Srl7zPDdUFmCH10wlyZlo0HVr7X9s6AOpOIUT9crUUWNLFuDAgQgLZdWt1zfWjbMgbnWlskYDOhHkEjCfAZ8Wnyq1XSRDYL0gkjzmFgWZ4gd9bxJAwwq0H/s1600/IMG_9910.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPP1TE2ewdi3oAEMk9b2TeF1Srl7zPDdUFmCH10wlyZlo0HVr7X9s6AOpOIUT9crUUWNLFuDAgQgLZdWt1zfWjbMgbnWlskYDOhHkEjCfAZ8Wnyq1XSRDYL0gkjzmFgWZ4gd9bxJAwwq0H/s320/IMG_9910.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 5. Refold center fold</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All are optional: add tape across center fold, and, or cut wind flaps on back of wings for tricks.</div>

<br />
At the beginning of the book, it was a bit dry for me. As I got farther through, I got more into it. I started reading bigger and bigger chunks of the book and before I knew it, the book was over! The book is about two kids that live in a small town during the Great Depression. Jean, the main character, is the younger of the two. A boy named Jem is her older brother. The are both children to Atticus Finch, who is a lawyer. During the summer, a boy named Dill comes and spends the summer with them before going away again. Their summers are mainly spent harassing Boo Radley, who spends all of his time indoors. It's a great book and worth reading all the way through even if it is dry reading for you. I can see why this book is known as a classic.Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-54231094326890209602017-04-14T12:53:00.001-07:002017-04-14T12:53:27.344-07:00My History of Volunteering at the Food Pantry and Food BankBy Josh<br />
<br />
I started working at the food pantry when I was 8. Everybody there was at least 10 years older then I was. We were in Virginia at the time and I started volunteering at the food pantry at the Water's Edge Church. At the age of 9, I was put on the news because I was working at the food pantry at my age.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilJuXFK6-LWI2qUAKm4eWvIi8_r7hZSenJMjPpsigoPgLovcjYiDCcSUS-hREmAUIYm2rPZpjxQgzWag5WS7jdVf05q4o5bx1DjDQbtQ54Bkld_gGNVlciSq_28NB4LdiEUumxPSQPu0Rd/s1600/20170414_115335.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="169" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilJuXFK6-LWI2qUAKm4eWvIi8_r7hZSenJMjPpsigoPgLovcjYiDCcSUS-hREmAUIYm2rPZpjxQgzWag5WS7jdVf05q4o5bx1DjDQbtQ54Bkld_gGNVlciSq_28NB4LdiEUumxPSQPu0Rd/s320/20170414_115335.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The volunteers at the food pantry</div>
Not much long after, we moved to Washington State. I started working at the food bank there. Unfortunately, I stopped after 2-3 weeks of volunteering at the food bank in Washington. The reason why was because I couldn't go on my own at that age, so my brothers would have to come too and they were too young. But now, at the age of 13, I have started volunteering again. This time, Mom, Jeremiah, Nathaniel and I are all volunteering by driving around and picking up donations for the food bank on Thursdays. Most of the stops are at Starbucks. The only place that we visit that is not Starbucks is an Auntie Anne's that usually gives us 25 pounds worth of food. All 25 pounds of it goes into a red backpack.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Us after two of the stops</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
You'll notice that I am the one carrying the red backpack. We are still volunteering every Thursday.</div>

This is an official LEGO website. What you basically do, is you build something, take a few pictures, and submit it. If it reaches 10,000 supporters, then it goes into LEGO review, where it will be reviewed by the people at LEGO to see if it will work as an official LEGO set. If it becomes a LEGO set, you will get 10 complimentary copies of the set and 1% of the net sales from the set (which is a lot, given how many people buy LEGO sets). You need to be 13 or older to join LEGO Ideas, but there is no fee to join. I think that this is a very cool website. Here is a picture of one I've submitted:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

You can add almost anything! What I mean is if say, you want to do one for a new movie, they will need to make sure that they are licensed to use it. <br />
Before you get to collecting, you will need a few things.<br />
<b>You will need:</b><br />
<ul>
<li><b>A place to keep the stamps</b></li>
<li><b>Tweezers </b></li>
<li><b>A large bowl</b></li>
<li><b>Hot water</b></li>
<li><b>A small towel</b></li>
</ul>
There are three ways to collect stamps:<br />
<ul>
<li><b>The Water Bowl</b></li>
<li><b>The Collecting Store</b></li>
<li><b>The Post Office</b></li>
</ul>
Let's go through the three ways<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>1. The Water Bowl</b><br />
<br />
This is if you get a letter in the mail and you want the stamp from it.<br />
<ol>
<li>Fill the large bowl with hot water</li>
<li>Put the letter with the stamp in the water</li>
<li>Wait a minute</li>
<li>Grab the letter and put it on the towel</li>
<li>VERY CAREFULLY use the tweezers to remove the stamp without tearing it</li>
<li>Throw the letter in the garbage and let the stamp dry</li>
<li>Once the stamp is dry add it to your collection</li>
</ol>
<b>2. The Collecting Store</b><br />
<br />
This is if you want to buy an/some old stamp/s<br />
<ol>
<li>Search for a collecting store in your area (we have found some at hooby lobby as well)</li>
<li>If you can find one go to it</li>
<li>In there you can most likely find stamps</li>
<li>Buy the stamps you want to buy</li>
</ol>
If you can't find one or you don't feel like leaving home then you can always buy the stamps online.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>3. The Post Office</b><br />
<br />
This one needs no explanation. You literally go to the post office, find some stamps you want and buy them.<br />
<br />
I hope this blog post helps and happy stamp collecting!Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-48341430785009378802017-02-28T19:08:00.000-08:002017-02-28T19:08:08.763-08:00Josh's B-Day By Jeremiah the 6th grader<br />
<br />
Josh is 13 this year and I decided to do a blog post about what we did on his b-day from my perspective. Around 7:30. I wake up and go downstairs, and start making a card for him.<br />
Around 8:00. I finish my card and we take Josh his breakfast. I go downstairs again, get some breakfast, and come up again to eat with Josh.<br />
<div style="direction: ltr;">
Around 8:30. We finish breakfast and find out The Snohomish Aquatic Center's first free swim doesn't start until 2:00!</div>
<div style="direction: ltr;">
Around 8:45. We had some extra Reese's rolls so we took some to the Church.<br />
Around 9:00. After we did that we headed to the local antique store for a bit. Mom got a really pretty pearl necklace and another lavender pouch.<br />
Around 10:00. We head home.<br />
Around 10:15. We get home.<br />
Around 11:15.(I'm guessing) We have Paninis for lunch<br />
Around 1:15.(I'm guessing) We head to The Snohomish Aquatic Center.<br />
Around 1:30.(I'm guessing) We go to the nearby Co-op to pick up some bedding.<br />
Around 1:35.(I'm guessing) We get to The Snohomish Aquatic Center.<br />
Around 4:00. We head home.<br />
Around 6:25.(I'm guessing) We eat dinner.<br />
Around 7:15.(I'm guessing) We go to Blu Berry<br />
Around 8:00. We Sleep. </div>

<br />
I have already talked about the best openings for chess, now it's time to talk about the openings that will really mess you up. The side worse off will be white in these pictures.<br />
<br />
First I will talk about the WORST OPENING OF ALL TIME.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3pmSaWwTodac9ee3SUOnYTdc6XehwZKQnMXSX1zsqQn4QZps6roQQ4VZf-FmgzT1V4eeI5QGSffPA_TWDdtkt8hOFfYzhIyn3Tm4fRrrG2SpFPO_iK9_bzVS5q-OIsI943gscUFeSb8Sc/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-03-11-26-55.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3pmSaWwTodac9ee3SUOnYTdc6XehwZKQnMXSX1zsqQn4QZps6roQQ4VZf-FmgzT1V4eeI5QGSffPA_TWDdtkt8hOFfYzhIyn3Tm4fRrrG2SpFPO_iK9_bzVS5q-OIsI943gscUFeSb8Sc/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-03-11-26-55.png" width="320" /></a></div>
This opening needs no explanation. This is the fastest way to mate. Use this opening if you want to lose fast.<br />
<br />
I put this as the second worst because of it's uselessness<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil2Dij_RCaShpeYZvHHum2zBaVZCyeDEUGqQ77Q7Go9em4y6LPdBK95a0bDvRM7-nLLa8A_NInprVklyHvVQ-gxSsRL45-D2BZryAVCn_obBSLoTb8UwelazMZ74C0EKaMMUSs_EK-T8g2/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-03-22.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil2Dij_RCaShpeYZvHHum2zBaVZCyeDEUGqQ77Q7Go9em4y6LPdBK95a0bDvRM7-nLLa8A_NInprVklyHvVQ-gxSsRL45-D2BZryAVCn_obBSLoTb8UwelazMZ74C0EKaMMUSs_EK-T8g2/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-03-22.png" width="320" /></a></div>
The reason why I think this is useless is that in the beginning you're trying to control the most squares, and the amount of squares controlled by you is increased by 2 and letting your opponent take all of the other squares. I played a game by myself using the analysis off to the right control my moves, the end result after that opening was this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWkmsm7DpnRjBTnZCPvUDSQHBGmDXAoDNhJdlcFverIwWI0jUKTCqoD1BT3l8sqoiumBmbxvL2SNdao-0Mz2x2_AkF7AJzrNx9osevCJrbTXgZ4eWRpqxYtGq-fK8wBBaZtFl1emPBDuoD/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-21-45.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWkmsm7DpnRjBTnZCPvUDSQHBGmDXAoDNhJdlcFverIwWI0jUKTCqoD1BT3l8sqoiumBmbxvL2SNdao-0Mz2x2_AkF7AJzrNx9osevCJrbTXgZ4eWRpqxYtGq-fK8wBBaZtFl1emPBDuoD/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-21-45.png" width="320" /></a></div>
(Note: I didn't even try to finish because white was so hopeless)<br />
Use this opening if you want your opponent to control the entire board.<br />
<br />
I put this as the third worst because this opening literally depends on the opponent making a bad move<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghtKxIimRW09cUpaKa89kDn9bCSTCr4nse5X-6SzB5XyxC7YH2y5d4_7Ryrg2vXlEle4ibUVFGKTbIwe7GFvnno04DtrJgpeOvEBc-vAO85zdiJPNOlIwFeqpMK6-lAYyhWhLUE4hlXHVK/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-00-52.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghtKxIimRW09cUpaKa89kDn9bCSTCr4nse5X-6SzB5XyxC7YH2y5d4_7Ryrg2vXlEle4ibUVFGKTbIwe7GFvnno04DtrJgpeOvEBc-vAO85zdiJPNOlIwFeqpMK6-lAYyhWhLUE4hlXHVK/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-03-12-00-52.png" width="320" /></a></div>
As this is a great opening for when you are playing games with a short timer, but playing casually this is a very bad idea. I played another game like in the previous one and this was the end result:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtDDf3ThyphenhyphenKI_pnf3KehA3ldYIOtEHpvBk85_MgNSNT-ffSVvFFF2GZ3T4OzUcLKbIpzDRHvNqa9iYhEuvhciOFY8e8Woc-UPXBd4Vk1ZoxHPDLbJNPsvj4nX0TICnFPQxHMYlGlckV-tzh/s1600/Screenshot_2017-02-03-11-58-54.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtDDf3ThyphenhyphenKI_pnf3KehA3ldYIOtEHpvBk85_MgNSNT-ffSVvFFF2GZ3T4OzUcLKbIpzDRHvNqa9iYhEuvhciOFY8e8Woc-UPXBd4Vk1ZoxHPDLbJNPsvj4nX0TICnFPQxHMYlGlckV-tzh/s320/Screenshot_2017-02-03-11-58-54.png" width="320" /></a></div>
(Note: Yet again, I didn't try even try to finish because white was so hopeless)<br />
This just goes to show how bad you can lose with this opening.<br />
<br />

This year I'm going to be 13! We've already decided what my party is going to be like (more of an open house and no big theme), what flavor of cake it will be (Peanut Butter-Chocolate, again) and how many people will be invited. Some may think that I am getting excited too early, but in perspective to the stores that start preparing for Christmas 6 months early, me being excited a month early is no big deal. We have no idea what we're going to do for the day of my birthday.Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-75023947724965866182017-02-03T12:33:00.004-08:002017-06-01T11:09:38.247-07:00MagicBy Jeremiah the 6th grader<br />

I should talk about this before I jump into all the different cards. There are 5 different colors:<br />
White,<img alt="Image result for white mana magic" src="https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/mtg/images/d/da/Mana_W.png/revision/latest?cb=20130604114009" /><br />
Blue,<img alt="Image result for blue mana magic" src="https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/mtg/images/a/a8/Mana_U.png/revision/latest?cb=20130604114015" /><br />
Green, <img alt="Image result for green mana magic" src="https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/mtg/images/f/f7/Mana_G.png/revision/latest?cb=20130604114032" /><br />
Red,<img alt="Image result for red mana symbol" height="200" src="https://static.artfire.com/uploads/product/8/358/82358/6082358/6082358/large/mtg_magic_mana_symbol_red_mountains_-_4_x_4_decals_80e793c9.jpg" width="200" /><br />
and Black,<img alt="Image result for black mana magic" src="https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/mtg/images/a/a6/Mana_B.png/revision/latest?cb=20130604114019" />.<br />
They all have different strategies. White is "Get your health up super high, and <b>then</b> attack." Blue is "Get your health up, attack a little, and then heal some more.'' Green is "Get some animals out there and heal during battle." Red And Black are " Get your Mana up, (I'll talk about Mana later) then: <b>ATTACK!!!</b> My deck is a mix of Red, White, and Black, Josh is all Green, and Dad is all Black.<br />
All right, Mana: In this game Mana is what you use to cast spells and whatnot. You are going to need a <b>lot</b> of Mana no matter what color you are.<br />
Next the different kinds of cards. First Creatures. They are your are your army (once you have enough on the battlefield).<br />
Next, Enchantment - Aura. with these you can Enchant Creatures with awesome properties!<br />
Next up: land. There are 2 kinds of land. Basic land (Mana), and Land that give you Mana. I have 4 cards that give me Mana. One that gives me Red And Black, one that gives me Red And White, one that gives me White And Black, and one that gives me all three!<br />
Next up: Artifacts. Artifacts usually only cost three Mana each however, they give really cool benefits. last up: Instants<br />
Instants can be casted at any time. My favorite Instant is called "Flesh to dust" It uses 2 black Mana and 3 Mana of any color. That may seem like a lot of Mana but you can "Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated" The only problem is I only have two.Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-58125650892661204362017-01-26T13:47:00.000-08:002017-01-26T13:47:21.171-08:00Diablo 3By Jeremiah the 6th grader<br />

There are 5 Acts and there are 2 bosses, per Act. One about halfway through and the other one at the end of each act. The first Act took Josh, Dad, and I 3 days to complete! However the acts get shorter as you progress on. There are 7 different kinds of Attacks. All of which have 3 - 5 kinds of attacks (you don't get all of them until Character level 64 or so) Speaking of which there are 70 Character levels. At first you level up pretty fast but once you hit 66 It's really slow.</div>

The Wither Skeleton can only spawn in the Nether (Unless spawned from an egg)<br />

The Skeleton always spawns with a bow (rarely with Enchantments), However a<b> Wither</b> Skeleton always spawns with a Stone Sword with the Wither Effect (Poison)<br />

<br />
<b>Items Required</b><br />
Deck of Cards, Cribbage Board (you can use a piece of paper and tally marks but it's hard to keep track.<br />
<b>Amount of Players</b><br />
2<br />
<b>How to Win</b><br />
Be the first one to reach 121 points<br />
<b>How to Play</b><br />
First, each player draws a card from the deck. The player with the lower card gets the first crib (we will talk about that later).<br />
Each round consists of 4 parts<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Drawing</b></li>
<li><b>Discarding</b></li>
<li><b>Playing</b></li>
<li><b>Scoring</b></li>
</ul>
Before we get into the game, I had better tell you how to score.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Cards that add up to 15 are worth 2 points</b></li>
</ul>
Ex. 8 and 7 = a 15 because 7+8=15<br />
(Note: K, Q and J are worth 10 each and an ace is worth 1)<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Two of a Kinds are worth 2</b></li>
</ul>
Ex. a 6 and a 6 is worth 2<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Three of a Kinds are worth 6</b></li>
</ul>
Ex. 3 6's are worth 6<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Four of a Kinds are worth 12</b></li>
</ul>
Ex. 4 6's are worth 12<br />
(Note: 4 6's are not worth 20 because it's a four of a kind, a three of a kind and a two of a kind. They do not stack like that.)<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Straights are worth the amount of cards in the straight</b></li>
</ul>
An ace, a 2, and a 3 are worth 3 combined, but a 1 and a 2 don't count as 2<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Flushes are worth 4</b></li>
</ul>
Ex. An ace of hearts, a 4 of hearts, a 5 of hearts and an 8 of hearts is worth 4<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>Nibs(AKA Nobs) is worth 2</b></li>
</ul>
If it is your crib and the cut card (will also talk about that later) is a Jack you get 2 points<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>A GO is worth 1</b></li>
</ul>
Will talk about this later<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li><b>A 31 is worth 2</b></li>
</ul>
Will talk about this later<br />
<br />
OK, so now that I have told you how to score, it's time to talk about playing.<br />
<br />
<b>Drawing</b><br />
The person who's crib it is shuffles the deck. Then the other person grabs a card from the deck. This is the Cut Card. It is very important. Then the dealer deals 6 cards to each person. Make sure that your opponent does not see your cards. Now it is time for discarding.<br />
<br />
<b>Discarding</b><br />
Each player discards two cards for the crib. You are both putting cards into the crib FACE DOWN. Now it is time for playing.<br />
<br />
<b>Playing</b><br />
The player who is not the dealer/owner of the crib plays first, then the dealer, and you both take turns placing cards until a player cannot place a card without the cumulative value of the played cards going over 31 must say "GO!" and the person who played the last card has to keep playing until he/she too can't play a card without going over 31. Then the player that played the last card gets 1 point unless the total WAS 31, if that is so then that player gets 2 points! After the point(s) has been given the total value goes down to 0 and play continues until nobody has any cards left. Now it is time for scoring<br />
<br />
<b>Scoring</b><br />
Now it is time to reveal the cards. First, we score the player who is not the dealer's hand. Then, the hand of the dealer. Then, the crib. Now, the dealer is the person who wasn't the dealer.<br />
<br />
Play continues until someone gets to 121 points.<br />
<br />
<b>Skunks</b><br />
A skunk is a win where your opponent had 91 points or under.<br />
A double skunk is a win where your opponent had 61 points or under.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoy playing cribbage!Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-82322857237782271062017-01-13T11:41:00.002-08:002017-01-13T11:41:54.915-08:00Erectors VS Lincoln LogsBy Jeremiah the 6th grader<br />

<br />
A High Wind and Rain storm is coming to our area. Last year when this happened, our power got knocked out for 6 days! It's going to be starting this morning. We think it will go until noon tomorrow. I'm just hoping it doesn't knock out our power as long as the last one did! But, if it is as long as the last one was, we're more prepared! Instead of having to look around the house to find flashlights, we have 5 right next to the table! The one thing I'm wondering is if it will be as violent as the last one. The last one literally took a few of the tiles off of someones' roof! We saw it happen given that we could watch through the glass on the back door. There is still a silver patch where it happened! Now, don't worry that the storm got inside their house. There is wood under the tiles. But still, who knows how violent it will be?Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-83369148217849934112016-10-07T12:21:00.000-07:002017-02-28T13:00:51.673-08:00How to Get "Millionaire" in Khan AcademyBy Josh, the 8th Grader<br />
<img alt="Image result for khan academy millionaire badge" height="200" src="https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/khanacademy/images/5/5f/Millionaire-512x512.png/revision/latest?cb=20150815134534" width="200" /><br />
Picture found <a href="http://khanacademy.wikia.com/wiki/Millionaire" target="_blank">here</a><br />
I've been on Khan Academy for 3 years, and in that time I've racked up 2,785,030 Energy Points. I know that some of you who are reading this are wanting to know how to meet the requirements of 1,000,000 Energy Points, so I am going to give you some of the main ways I get Energy Points!<br />
<br />
<b>Speed Badges</b><br />
This one is one of my main ways because for each topic that you do 75 fast problems, you get about 10,000 Energy Points! You also get 4 Meteorite Badges, 2-3 Moon Badges (depends if you already have Geek of the week: practice) and 2 Earth Badges!<br />
<br />
<b>Master Skills</b><br />
Even if they're problems before/after your grade, go for them because if you reach 500 mastered then you get 748,100 Energy Points in badges ALONE!<br />
<br />
<b>Watch Videos</b><br />
The videos are 850 Energy Points a piece. You can listen to them while you're doing other things on your computer, and they are a good source of badges if you want more.Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-36595665140757691192016-09-30T14:17:00.001-07:002016-09-30T14:17:21.257-07:00Apple TastingBy Joshua, Grade 8<br />

Mom got 9 types of apples at the store the other day and we had all of them! I ranked them by how much I liked them.<br />
<br />
<b>9. Red Delicious</b><br />
This one was my least favorite because it is BLAND! It is juicy and crunchy. The juice is tasteless.<br />
<br />
<b>8. Fuji</b><br />
This one doesn't have flavor..... until the aftertaste! The aftertaste is sour.<br />
<br />
<b>7. Granny Smith</b><br />
As soon as you bite into it you get an overpowering flavor of sour! If you like sour more then I do then it might be in a different place.<br />
<br />
<b>6. Golden Delicious</b><br />
The sour/soft combination works well!<br />
<br />
<b>5. Jonagold</b><br />
This is a good type of complex in both flavor and texture!<br />
<br />
<b>4. Jazz</b><br />
This is the best tart apple of the entire bunch!<br />
<br />
<b>3. Pink Lady</b><br />
This apple has an average apple taste with a hint of sweetness!<br />
<br />
<b>2. Honeycrisp</b><br />
This apple would be my #1 if it were just a bit less sweet! This is SWEET!<br />
<br />
<b>1. Gala</b><br />
This apple has the perfect amount of sweetness and the texture is the perfect softness!Pickle Boyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05386745194030192779noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1782395413189104544.post-23936233806509958442016-09-30T14:12:00.002-07:002016-10-07T14:06:48.787-07:00Our ChickensBy Jeremiah the fifth grader<br />
<br />
It's been a while since we showed you our Chickens so here they are. That is a Rhodebar aka ''Big Red'' in the middle, a Buckeye aka "Buckey" on the left, and a Partridge Rock on the right.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that's what the girls look like, and if you were wondering we've had two coops so far the first one I don't have a picture of but I do have a picture of number two and here it is:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well that's what our girls and they're snug little coop look like. (The sign on the coop says Happy Hens Live Here).</div>
